TESTIMONY 2

According to the scriptures,
28 And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. (Joel 2:28-29 New King James Version – NKJV)

Also
24 So Moses went out and told the people the words of the LORD, and he gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people and placed them around the tabernacle. 25 Then the LORD came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was upon him, and placed the same upon the seventy elders; and it happened, when the Spirit rested upon them, that they prophesied, although they never did so again. 26 But two men had remained in the camp: the name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad. And the Spirit rested upon them. Now they were among those listed, but who had not gone out to the tabernacle; yet they prophesied in the camp. 27 And a young man ran and told Moses, and said, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp." 28 So Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, one of his choice men, answered and said, "Moses my lord, forbid them!" 29 Then Moses said to him, "Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put His Spirit upon them!" (Numbers 11:24-29 NKJV)

Joshua seems to be overlooking an important point. And what point is that? Here are some hints:
34 ........... In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. (Acts 10:34,35 NKJV)

Now I am certain that God treats all people alike. God is pleased with everyone who worships him and does right, no matter what nation they come from. (Acts 10:34-35 The Learning Bible - TLB)

6 Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. 7 And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you ......... 9 So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day. 10 When they came there to the hill, there was a group of prophets to meet him; then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. 11 And it happened, when all who knew him formerly saw that he indeed prophesied among the prophets, that the people said to one another, "What is this that has come upon the son........ (1 Samuel 10:6-7, 9-10, 11 NKJV)

Something similar to the above scriptures happened to a young man few years ago. The testimony stated below further confirms that indeed, the word of God is true, and alive even in this day and age. Jesus Christ - the Living Word of God - is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore. Hence, the word of God does not change with time. The truth of His word is valid at all times, through all generations, anywhere on the face of the earth, and in the lives of as many as are called according to His purpose. The Most High "God is no respecter of persons" (Acts 10:34 King James Version – KJV). And He is more than able to live up to His word, perform His prophecies, and do spiritually amazing things in the lives of His anointed ones.

Here is the young man's account / testimony:
It was nine decades and a year into the century. It was the third day of the eighth month. It was the last day of the week. It all began toward the end of dinnertime. The young man's male parent asked him to go to one of the neighbourhood stores or pharmacy after dinner. He passed him the money across the dining table where they were sitting opposite each other. The money is to be used for the purchase of a small size container of a famous brand of ointment commonly used for the treatment of cold and relief of pain. He picked up the money from the table and folded it neatly before inserting it in the left breast pocket of the shirt he was wearing. He was wearing one of the four shirts of the school uniform of his Alma Mater.

Almost immediately after supper, he set out to go and purchase the ointment. It was few minutes before the twentieth hour of the day. He notified some members of the family sitting outside the bungalow home about his readiness to set off. In this way, his absence will not be a concern. It never occurred to him to first pass by the retail sellers on the street where he lives to check for the availability of the ointment. Rather, he headed straight for a particular chemist / supermarket he was fast getting used to. It is about fifteen minutes journey from his place of abode. Whenever he happened to be outside, he typically seize the opportunity to put his vocal chords to spiritual use. As he waxed stronger and stronger in the LORD and the things of God, he took delight in indulging in this blessed habit. Whenever he found himself on the way to this particular chemist / supermarket, he would burst into spiritual songs, hymns and choruses. This day was no exception.

Upon reaching his destination, he requested for the desired brand of ointment. He was told it was not available. He immediately opted for the alternative brand the male parent had asked him to resort to in case the desired brand was unavailable. But another disappointment awaited him. Even though he offered money to pay for the item, the lady behind the adding machine at the counter did not have coins to give to him as change. He had to leave the item behind as he exited. As he stepped into the night thinking which song to sing, the Holy Spirit constrained him to go ahead and pray in tongues. Be it the tongue he spoke when he got baptized in the Holy Spirit (He used this tongue quite often); or the new tongue he was blessed with six days earlier when the anointing of the Holy Spirit fell upon the gathering of the children of God among whom he fellowship. He opted for the latter.

On his way home, he realized something as he prayed in tongues: the tone of his utterances was beginning to change. How the words were being uttered, and the sound being produced as each was uttered began to change. It became more pronounced as he arrived home. As he closed the pedestrian gate, the changes in intonation had now given rise to singing in tongues. This is a form of praying in tongues. It should be pointed out that this spiritual phenomenon was not based on his effort or invention. Rather, it was due to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The outpouring of God's Spirit and anointing is becoming prevalent and noticeable. This spiritual incident excited him so much he actually employed delay tactics so he could stay outside a little bit longer before eventually going inside the house to announce his return. As part of his delay strategy, he walked at a much slower pace. Also, he spent more time than he normally would while locking the gate. After handing over the purchased item, he stepped outside almost immediately as if he could not wait to be by himself. Upon stepping outside, he started strolling around within the premises. He continued praying / singing in tongues. He did not find it difficult picking up from where he stopped before entering the house. It was quite obvious that the Holy Spirit is having His way and is fully in control - an indicator of what is to become of his life and ministry. In a matter of minutes, what started as speaking and singing in a mono-tongue turned into speaking, singing and prophesying in various / divers tongues. Intermittent smiles and laughter in the spirit as well as prophetic utterances in the understanding characterize the session.

His mood, emotion, tongue and every part of his being was totally brought under the control of the Holy Spirit. What happened to Saul in 1 Samuel 10:6-11 (see above scripture selections) is happening to him: "........ then the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied........" (1 Samuel 10:10 NKJV). Even though most of the prophetic utterances were in tongues, some came in the understanding. The Lord, by the power of His Spirit, used his vocal cords as His instrument of prophecy. The utterances began with "Thus saith the Lord" and it was repeated several times. Below is the highlight of the utterances:
    .    The Lord warned him of obstacles ahead;
    .    He assured him that He is with him and will help him;
    .    He assured him of prosperity;
    .   Due to the nature of anointing and power that his ministry and        personality are blessed with, He will yield the nations to him,          and attract kings to him for His glory;
    .    He assured him of His love;
   .   He assured him that there is nothing the adversary can do to          hurt him, hence, he need not be afraid of them;
    .    He made clear to him the important nature of his ministry as
        well as the vital nature of his calling. He made known His                   intention to ensure that he does not fail, and, in fact, will not fail;
    .    He assured him that He will not leave him nor forsake him;
    .    He told him not to forget Him in all he does;
    .    He pointed out to him how serious the anointing and impact his          words will have;
    .   He pointed out to him that He had brought him up for the
        purpose of demonstrating His power through him, and also for          declaring His name through the earth.

The utterance was concluded with words of thanks to Jesus.

A month prior to this revolutionary event, during one of his habitual bible studies / meditation, the Lord had led him to the scripture passage in Numbers 11:24 - 29 (see the scripture selections at the beginning of this piece). While reading this passage, he found it both humourous and fascinating how even though Eldad and Medad were not in the designated religious gathering as the rest of the seventy elders, yet, "the Spirit rested upon them". Both men "had not gone out to the tabernacle; yet they prophesied". This isn't an acclaimed prophet like Moses we are talking about. These were two ordinary individuals who got hit by the Spirit of God at a place and a time that one would least expect. The Lord did not wait for them to be in a designated religious building or gathering before he did what he hinted in Joel 2:28-29 (see the scripture selections at the beginning of this piece).

As mentioned earlier, when he came across Numbers 11:24-29, he found it both humourous and fascinating. The Holy Spirit whispered to him in a still small voice to alert him of the seriousness of the message being conveyed to him from the passage. The Spirit pointed out that this was no laughing matter. Right there and then, he was given the premonition about him finding himself in the shoes of Medad, Edad, the seventy elders, and Saul. The premonition proves to be genuine. The life-changing experience of this night proved it to be so. It has come to pass. It has become a testimony. Even after he stopped speaking that night, he could still feel and hear the prophetic utterances in tongues being formed and uttered inside him. This spiritual sensation did not wear off with sleep. The next day, he realized that he had no difficulty whatsoever in picking up from where he left off prophesying in the Spirit. He did not seem to have lost the ability to continue doing so. The inspiration of the Holy Spirit did not seem to stop coming either. This spiritual God-knows-what-word-best-describes-it continued to be the trend in his life since then.

Did the Lord not say that "and it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit............" Joel 2:28. Brace yourself. You just read one testimony. Yours could be next. Why? Why not?!

......... "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God." (Luke 18:27 NKJV)

26 My dear friends, remember what you were when God chose you. The people of this world didn't think that many of you were wise. Only a few of you were in places of power, and not many of you came from important families. 27 But God chose the foolish things....... He chose the weak things......... 28 What the world thinks is worthless, useless, and nothing at all is what God has used ......... (1 Corinthians 1:26-28 TLB)

God bless.
