As much as one will agree that it is nice to be tolerant towards others, one can not deny the fact that tolerance has what some considered as somehow disadvantageous. Tolerance is a virtue. Individuals who relate with others in tolerant manner be deemed virtuous. Tolerance makes those at the receiving end feel more at ease and loved. But as time goes on, tolerance may breed indulgence in its beneficiaries.
If 'giving' tolerance can be considered reflection of humility, 'receiving' it at times leads to arrogance. More often than not, beneficiaries of tolerance mistake tolerant folks for inferiors or morons. Some perceive tolerant individuals as fools waiting for reins to be attached to their necked.
Whereas tolerance breeds virtues in its those who exemplifies it, tolerance has the potent of breeding arrogance in its benefactors.
IN ADDITION
Word on the street: "And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life?" (Matthew 6:27) It is commonly stated that worrying can not add a second to anyone's life's span. However, one fact often gets overlooked. That is, even though worrying can not lengthen one's life span, it can shorten it! No, it is not specifically stated as such in the scriptures. But come to think of it for a moment. Isn't that truth?
