..............whatever He says to you, do it ......... Jesus said to them. Fill the waterpots with water. (But what they lacked and requested for is wine, how come they have to fill the waterpots with water? Well I guess the LORD knows what He is doing). And they fill them up to the brim. And He said to unto them. Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast (master of ceremony, that is) had tasted the water that was made wine and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And said to him, .........you have kept the good wine until now."(John 2:5,7-10)
And to think it all started with "...........whatsoever He says to you, do it." No hesitation. No second thought.
And He (Jesus) entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And He sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when He had left speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said to Him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken: nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net broke. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees,......... For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken"(Luke 5:3-9).
After all said and done, fruitless labour, ".................. nevertheless (regardless of all I know, trust, believe in / hold on to, all those and even more notwithstanding) at Your word I will let down the net." At Your word, I will do it. No argument. No excuses. No pigheadedness. No stubborness. No room for fear or doubt. No egoism. I will obey and do it Your way. Right way. There is no justification for going against His word. He decides, I accept. Not the other way round. The LORD Jesus said, "If you love me, you will obey my commandments." He also said, "It is not all those who call me LORD, LORD that will enter into the kingdom of God except those who do the will of My Father in heaven." Of course, I do not know more than God. He knows the end from the beginning. And the beginning to the end. His wisdom, knowledg and understanding is unmatchable, and can never be countered successfully. He said in His word, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts (more advanced / righteous) than your thoughts." My plans for Him may not necessarily mean those are His plans for me. Like the LORD JESUS acknowledged in the garden of Gethsemane, His will will be done, eventually, no matter what. As His child, I must obey Him no matter what His word sounds like or appear to be. He leads. I follow, like the obedient child He expects me to be. Of course, God has reasonable expectation of obedience from me. To obey Him means glory to His Holy name, and blessings to me. Should I put smiles on Satan's face by dishonouring God's authority through disobedience? Never!
Will I behave like Naaman who was annoyed with God because of God's choice of the river Jordan as his cure of leprosy? Naaman rebelled against God. He disregarded the word of God through His prophets. "Trust in the LORD your God and you shall be established. Believe in His prophets and you shall prosper." Naaman, you are a leper. You have problems. God has the solution, and only Him decides how best to bring forth the solution, and NOT you, O disobedient, egotic leper! Your disobedience and ego almost cost you the miracle of healing. The time you got blessed by God was when you went down, "dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean." (II Kings 5:1-15). When you learn to obey the word / will of God, and be submissive to the voice of His Spirit, and realise He decides, you accept without any form of unwillingness, then "shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings: and you shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall" (Malachi 4:2). My dear reader, there is great joy and blessing in obeying God. Whatsoever He says to you, do it! He knows what He is doing. He is God, you are man, man made from dust and will return to dust. Having your way does not guarantee you desired results. Letting go of all that you believe you stand for and letting Him have His way will surely bring forth His desired results. And tell you what? You will enjoy and love it for that is where your future, life, destiny, happiness and contentment lies. No where else. Believe me.
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if you will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day .............." (Deuteronomy 11:26-28)
It shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command You this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken to the voice of the LORD of Your God. Blessed shall you be............" and blessed shall you be.................. Blessed shall be the fruit of your ..............
(Deuteronomy 28:1-14)
But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His commandents and His statutes which I command you this day, that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you: cursed shall you be ...........; and cursed shall you be ............. cursed shall be your ......... (Deuteronomy 28:15-68)
........... Do you think the LORD has great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices (just being religious and living seemingly holy, godly lifestyle), as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubborness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice." (I Samuel 15:22-24)
"............, We ought to obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29)
God will speak to you through His written word (the Scriptures); the anointed preaching and teaching of His word, a still small voice of the Holy Spirit on the inside, etc. If you yearn and hunger and desire to hear His voice, you will hear from Him from time to time. "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it, Whenever you turn to the left." (Isaiah 30:20 New King James Version - NKJV) "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." (John 10:28 NKJV) You will learn to recognize His voice as you continue to commune with Him in prayer, reading of the Bible , fellowshipping with other christians, especially matured brethren strong in the faith.
Of course, Satan does not want you to believe and obey God (Gen 3:1). He is a liar, murderer, accuser and negative response from people considered to be close friends, companions, family members. This is not least expected in line with the scripture of Matthew 10:32-39. The world and its lust and desires is another hindering factor. What profits a man who allows the fear, comment, opinion of mortal men; ploys of Satan, and the carnal world to hinder him from doing whatsoever He says.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Do not therefore be partakers with them. For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the LORD: walk as children of light.......... Proving what is acceptable to the LORD." (Ephesians 5:6-8,10)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (I Corinthians 10:5-6)
You will begin to experience His supernatural power in your life as you humble yourself and obey His word. (John 14:12-21).
And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides for ever. (I John 2:17)
Once you learn what His will / plan for you is, pursue them with all your exhuberance. Avoid using the scriptures to back up your own ways and decisions as a way of making it sound like the will or consent of God. This is self-deception. It leads to self-destruction. "For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself ........... Be not deceived. God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall be also reap." (Galatians 6:3,7). Beware, God is not easily deceived. His silence is not an encouragement to you to continue in your disobedience, it is a God-given chance to repent. Do not be like "that woman Jezebel"; "And I gave her space to repent .......... and she repents not." "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." (Revelations 2:20,21. Revelations 3:19)
Despite all odds, whatsoever He says to you, do it. At His word, do it. You will be glad you did! True. Pray about what you've read so far. Take time to go through the scriptures references and take quality time to pray about them. "He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches" (Rev 3:22)
Remain blessed as you walk in obedience.
IN JESUS' NAME (AMEN).
God bless.
Yours
